Several places around the country something bizarre is happening, animals stand as if entranced and seem to come out of the trance changed, healed in some way, and then Grady and his dog Merlin run across these strange creatures, they are unlike anything he has ever seen. When he involves the local vet, Cammy, she begins searching for what they might be, and it comes to the attention of the Dept of Homeland Security. But can the government put a lid on what is happening?
