This is the third book in the  Hunger Games series.

Katniss is now 17, and District 12 is nothing but ashes. What is left of the people of district 12 are now refugees in, the previously believed to be eradicated, district 13. Now Katniss is trying to adjust to her life, one she never anticipated living, and the president of district 13 is pressing her to become the Mockingjay, a living symbol of the rebellion against the capitol. But if she agrees, what else is she agreeing to?

Katniss has moved into Victor Village, but she still doesn’t feel at home there. She must continue her romance with Peeta for the cameras sake, but she just isn’t feeling it, until the President comes to visit her before the victory tour, and tells her that she is in danger, from him. Can Katniss convince the country that she is just a girl in love? Does she even want to?

This is the first in a trilogy.

Katniss lives in the Seam, the borderland of District 12, where the poorest people live. She supports her sister and mother with the illegal hunting she does in the wilderness. Until the day of the Reaping, when 2 teenagers names are drawn from each district, and they are sent to The Hunger Games. Where they compete, until only one survives. When Katniss’ little sister’s name is drawn, she volenteers to take her place, but can she survive the Games?
