Princess Diaries 4: Mia Goes Forth ~ Meg Cabot

This is the fourth in the Princess Diaries series. Mia has returned from Genovia from the Christmas holidays and school is starting up again. and Mia has issues.. this is not a bad book, but I am going to have to take a break from the series. I can only take so much Teenage Angst without going nuts.

Princess in Love ~ Meg Cabot

This is the third book in the Princess Diaries series. These are definitely teen girl books, and not the truly any age books that some are, like the Harry Potter Series, or the Anne of Green Gables series, or the Little House series.
She spent the entire book agonizing about whether a certain boy liked her. While at the same time getting ready for finals and dealing with princess training and all the other events in her life. Not that they are bad, by any means, they are pretty good, you just have to consider the target age when reading them.

Princess in the Spotlight ~ Meg Cabot

This is the second book in the Princess Diaries series. This novel takes place in October of Mia’s Freshman year of high school. She is still attending school and living in New York, and taking princess lessons from her grandmother. In the very beginning of the book we learn that Mia’s mother is pregnant, by Mia’s algebra teacher. Most of the book is Mia and her family dealing with this. And how Mia handles the pressures of learning to be a princess and attending high school.

The Princess Diaries I ~ Meg Cabot

OK, I picked this book up after having seen the movie and thinking it would be a pretty good book. I was right, it is a pretty good book, BUT, try to forget you have seen the movie, or if possible, don’t see the movie first. Don’t think of this as the same story, the way a lot of movies made from books are. If you can think of them as two totally separate stories, then you will be OK, I had a hard time with thinking… That isn’t how it was in the movie!! But it really is a good story, and really well told, I like the diary perspective too, it is different from a lot of things you read these days, it is definitely interesting enough for me to pick up the next one soon.
