Plum Lucky ~ Janet Evanovich

book 13.5 in the Stephanie Plum series, a between the numbers novel. Diesel has shown up, again, startling the shit out of Stephanie, then Stephanie’s mother calls, and Grandma Mazer is missing. Stephanie goes to Atlantic City in search of Grandma, taking Lula and Connie with her. Through adventure, and misadventure, Stephanie finds her grandmother, only to have her kidnapped and held for ransom. There are only passing encounters with Joe and Ranger, but they are really just background here. Great quick read, and at times I laughed so hard the tears ran.

Lean Mean Thirteen ~ Janet Evanovich

This is the thirteenth book in the Stephanie Plum series. Stephanie pays a visit to her ex-husband, Dickie Orr, in order to plant a bug on him for Ranger, tempers flair and when Dickie disappears, Stephanie is a suspect. Morelli and Ranger take turns keeping Stephanie safe, while at the same time working on the things they have to get done. Is Stephanie going to go to jail for Dickie’s murder? Or will she figure out who is responsible for his disappearance…
