Before Green Gables ~ Budge Wilson

This is a new prequel to the classic Anne of Green Gables series.

This novel starts from the beginning, shortly after Anne’s parents were married, and tells the tale of her birth, orphaning and life until she arrives in Bright River, Prince Edward Island and met Matthew Cuthbert.

This book had a different feel than the original Anne books, as, obviously, it can’t have been written by the same author. Ms. Wilson has done a great job of gathering facts and telling this tale. It was very difficult to set down even for a few minutes. I am not sure if that was because it was so well written, or because it was about Anne, whom I have loved for years.

Tailspin ~ Catherine Coulter

This is book twelve in the FBI series.

Someone is trying to kill Rachael Abbot. She manages to survive being drugged and dumped in a lake while tied to a block of cement, and now is on the run, trying to get to her uncle, who can help her hide while she figures out what to do. When suddenly her car quits, just a few miles from her uncles house, and as she starts the walk into town, an airplane falls out of the sky right in front of her.

FBI Agent Jack Crowne was able to make the crash survivable, despite the bomb that went off on board, and he and his passenger are still alive, but they have no clue were they are, and they need medical help.  Rachael helps pull them from the wreckage and gets them into town but hides from them why she is really there, until the FBI shows up and more attempts are made on her life.

Also featured is a great deal more of Special Agents Savich and Sherlock and their family life, which was much overdue in my opinion.
